Abstract: Please stay away from this hosting company! They offer the cheapest dedicated servers but offer no technical support whatsoever, keep making billing errors (always to their advantage) that take them months to fix (see here an example), and then try to charge you extra for no objective reason (see below). See here a combined example of incompetent behavior from ServerPronto.
So, what you save with the cheap servers they get it away from you with false invoices loaded with extra-charges for no reason.
I have been a customer of ServerPronto (a Company of Infolink, S.A.) for almost 3 years and I have paid them over 6,600$ in dedicated servers hosting services. In the end I was paying 250$ each month and was hosting 6 servers with them. Then, suddenly, they decided to charge me an extra 150$ for bandwidth usage. I checked my logs and saw no extra usage so I contacted them. They provided usage data in the form of graphs that crearly showed NO INCREASE in the bandwidth consumed by me during the corresponding billable period! When I pointed this out to them, they simply insisted once and again that their data was correct and that I had to pay the invoice! It didn’t matter that I had proven to them that the invoice was wrong, they wanted to force me to pay for it. So obviously I had to cancel all my servers with this company. They preferred to insist on charging a one-time 120$ extra-charge that they could not prove I had used, and therefore lose a long-standing customer who was giving them 250$ each month and had been constantly growing. Does that make business sense to anyone?
A quick search on the internet shows there are other ServerPronto customers who have suffered the same scam to try and force their money out of them. They simply charge extra bandwidth and claim it was consumed by the customer, even though thir data does not show it. They will not drop the invoice even if you warn them you will leave.
This is in fact just the final straw in my experience with the services provided by ServerPronto, which are of the lowest quality. Their technical support is simply non-existent. Their technical stuff are unqualified personnel who know nothing about the operating systems their servers run. For example, they don’t know how to check how much memory a server is actually using.
Another problem with this hosting company is that they don’t provide you with a way to reboot your servers when they become unreachable through SSH. You have to open a ticket and wait for up to hours for them to reboot the server. This can ad up a lot to your sites down-time!
Also, if your server gets compromised and falls pray to a phishing scheme, then they will send you an email and just one day later they will disconnect your server. So, if you don’t check your emails frequently enough or you don’t have time to locate and solve the issue, you’re sites are taken down, so you can not solve the issue!
In another case, they kept my server disconnected FOR OVER A WEEK! while they decided if the abuse report they had received had been resolved.
Once they also took down my server for unpaid invoices because they just decided to stop charging my credit card which they had on file and didn’t notify me on time.
They also advertise a paid support service with false indications of what the service includes.
